Spotify Volume Control While doing math homework: The Faster Way

💡 Overview

Volume is the most-adjusted setting in any listening session. One click on the music tab often turns into video scrolling.

Hover over the mini-player and scroll the mouse wheel to raise or lower the volume in small steps, or drag the slider for precision. A mute toggle remembers the previous level so you can silence a track and bring it back to where it was. The popup also supports the M key for mute.

The fix: Never open the tab; use the popup, a hotkey and nothing else.

🚀 Try It in Three Steps

1. Open the popup from the toolbar.
2. Scroll the mouse wheel over the player to adjust volume.
3. Press M or tap mute, then unmute to return to the previous level.

• Playback speed 0.5x to 2.0x: Presets at 1.0x, 1.25x, 1.5x and 2.0x, locked across track changes.
• Zero-polling design: A MutationObserver updates the UI only when the page changes, keeping CPU and memory use low.
• Four default hotkeys: Shift+Alt+Up toggles play and pause, Right skips, Left goes back and Down pauses only.
