Spotify Volume Control While gaming: The Faster Way

💡 Overview

Volume is the most-adjusted setting in any listening session. Skipping a track you dislike used to mean leaving the game window entirely.

Hover over the mini-player and scroll the mouse wheel to raise or lower the volume in small steps, or drag the slider for precision. A mute toggle remembers the previous level so you can silence a track and bring it back to where it was. The popup also supports the M key for mute.

Full-screen games own the screen, and alt-tabbing out can mean a lag spike, a minimized client, or a lost match.

The problem: Skipping a track you dislike used to mean leaving the game window entirely.

The fix: Set the shortcut scope to Global in chrome://extensions/shortcuts so the keys work while the game has focus.

1. Open the popup from the toolbar.
2. Scroll the mouse wheel over the player to adjust volume.
3. Press M or tap mute, then unmute to return to the previous level.
