Spotify Mini-Player in Chrome for Audiobook Listeners

💡 Overview

Sometimes you want to see the song, not just control it. Spoken word benefits from speed control more than music does.

Click the toolbar icon and the mini-player opens with a blurred, color-adaptive backdrop drawn from the current album art. It offers play, pause, next, previous, shuffle and repeat, a draggable progress bar for seeking, and a one-tap Liked Songs toggle that mirrors the state on the Web Player. Dark and light themes follow your system.

🧭 A Day of Audiobook Listeners

Spoken word benefits from speed control more than music does.

The problem: Fiddling with tabs to change speed is annoying.

The fix: Use the speed control from 0.5x to 2.0x in the popup.

🚀 Try It in Three Steps

1. Click the extension icon to open the mini-player.
2. Drag the progress bar to seek, or tap the heart to like the track.
3. Switch themes or presets from the dashboard if you want a different look.

✨ What You Get

• Four default hotkeys: Shift+Alt+Up toggles play and pause, Right skips, Left goes back and Down pauses only.
• Mouse-wheel volume: Scroll over the player for fine volume steps, plus one-tap mute memory.
• Dynamic album-art backdrops: A blurred, color-adaptive background drawn from the current artwork, in dark or light theme.

Note: it works with the Spotify Web Player at open.spotify.com only, and does not control the desktop app.
