Sim Racers rarely want a music app; they want four actions. Play or pause, next, previous, and a safe pause. Wheels, pedals and full-screen sims demand every ounce of attention.
Spotify-Web Playback Controller ships with defaults you can remember without a cheat sheet: Shift+Alt+Up toggles play or pause, Shift+Alt+Right goes to the next track, Shift+Alt+Left goes back, and Shift+Alt+Down pauses only. The pause-only key is deliberately one-way, so you never start music by accident when you meant to stop it.

- Memorize the arrow-key mapping: Up toggles, Right skips, Left goes back, Down pauses.
- Open chrome://extensions/shortcuts to review or change any binding.
- Practise each shortcut a few times until it becomes muscle memory.

- Playback speed 0.5x to 2.0x: Presets at 1.0x, 1.25x, 1.5x and 2.0x, locked across track changes.
- Mouse-wheel volume: Scroll over the player for fine volume steps, plus one-tap mute memory.
- Zero-polling design: A MutationObserver updates the UI only when the page changes, keeping CPU and memory use low.
