Music Producers rarely want a music app; they want four actions. Play or pause, next, previous, and a safe pause. Your DAW is for your own music, but you may still reference tracks in Spotify while you work.
Spotify-Web Playback Controller ships with defaults you can remember without a cheat sheet: Shift+Alt+Up toggles play or pause, Shift+Alt+Right goes to the next track, Shift+Alt+Left goes back, and Shift+Alt+Down pauses only. The pause-only key is deliberately one-way, so you never start music by accident when you meant to stop it.

The fix: Use seek in the popup to jump to a reference section without leaving your DAW.

- Memorize the arrow-key mapping: Up toggles, Right skips, Left goes back, Down pauses.
- Open chrome://extensions/shortcuts to review or change any binding.
- Practise each shortcut a few times until it becomes muscle memory.
