Stay in Flow: A Spotify Control Routine for Crafters
A simple routine for starting, pausing and ending music without friction.
💡 Overview
Flow is easy to lose and hard to get back. Hands are busy with materials and the laptop is across the table.
A routine helps: open the Web Player in a pinned tab, choose a playlist once, use Shift+Alt+Up to start, Shift+Alt+Right to skip, and Shift+Alt+Down when you need silence. Use the sleep timer for the end of a session. Keep everything else out of your day.
🧭 A Day of Crafters
Hands are busy with materials and the laptop is across the table.
The problem: Touching a trackpad with glue or paint on your hands is a bad idea.
The fix: Use a single key combo rather than the trackpad.
🚀 Try It in Three Steps
- Set one playlist at the start of the session.
- Use only shortcuts during the session.
- Use the sleep timer or pause-only at the end.
✨ What You Get
- Local focus analytics: Daily and weekly focus time, a seven-day chart and top artists and tracks, all stored on your device.
- Four default hotkeys: Shift+Alt+Up toggles play and pause, Right skips, Left goes back and Down pauses only.
- Zero-polling design: A MutationObserver updates the UI only when the page changes, keeping CPU and memory use low.
