Commuters with Laptops

One-Handed Spotify Control for Commuters with Laptops

Shortcut profiles including a WASD-style one-handed layout.

💡 Overview

Sometimes one hand is busy. You work in a moving, noisy place with a small screen.

Beyond the default Shift+Alt+arrow set, the dashboard offers shortcut profiles: Standard, a one-handed WASD set using Alt+Shift with W, S, A and D, a compact Alt+arrows set and a function-key set using Ctrl with F6 to F9. Pick whichever matches the hand that is free.

🧭 A Day of Commuters with Laptops

You work in a moving, noisy place with a small screen.

The problem: A cramped trackpad makes tab switching slow and fiddly.

The fix: Keyboard shortcuts beat a tiny trackpad every time.

🚀 Try It in Three Steps

  1. Open the dashboard from the extension.
  2. Choose a shortcut profile such as WASD or function keys.
  3. Check the bindings in chrome://extensions/shortcuts.

✨ What You Get

  • Sleep timer: Presets of 15, 30, 45 and 60 minutes with a live countdown that auto-pauses playback.
  • Zero-polling design: A MutationObserver updates the UI only when the page changes, keeping CPU and memory use low.
  • Mouse-wheel volume: Scroll over the player for fine volume steps, plus one-tap mute memory.
